Included in your camper’s enrollment, Mohawk provides transportation in professionally-driven, air-conditioned and seat-belted vehicles. Every bus has one or more bus counselors to ensure that every ride is both safe and fun. Don’t be surprised if the bus ride is one of your camper’s favorite parts of the day!
Westchester: All Westchester and Connecticut vehicles are mini-buses or minivan SUVs, with door-to-door service.
New York City: NYC buses are mini-buses, with pickup and dropoff stops close to apartments, and the option to have a Mohawk Counselor walk your child to his or her lobby.
**Parents may elect to have a Mohawk Bus Counselor pick up and drop off their camper right to their doorstep for an additional fee.**
Mini-day campers leave at 2:10, and have dropoff points close to their home.
Prior to the first day of camp, your bus monitor will arrange a visit to meet your family and provide a pickup and dropoff schedule. Most importantly, they meet each camper to ensure a comfortable introduction to camp – it’s great for kids to see a familiar, friendly face on Day One!
If a child is not yet four years old or under 40lbs, Mohawk will provide a car seat and fit it to your camper prior to the start of camp.
Lunch when you were a camper was never like this! In addition to our tasty, nutritious hot lunch cooked onsite daily by Flik Independent School Dining, we also offer campers a BBQ at our Cookout Corral and a pizza party at our Pizza Café once a week. Everyone is served family-style, except for our Senior Campers, who enjoy a lunch buffet.
And picky eaters? We have LOTS of experience with picky eaters!
Head Counselors serve lunch daily to ensure that every child finds something that he or she likes, including one of our 14 daily alternative choices such as sandwiches, yogurt, bagels and pasta.
Campers have snacks every afternoon, including a sweet or salty treat. Special Days mean ice pops or ice cream! Counselors at Mohawk are constantly aware of the need to keep their campers hydrated, especially on hot days. Water is always available during the day, and there are water fountains and water coolers throughout camp.
