Camp Events & Operations Coordinator

Mohawk Day Camp seeks a full-time Camp Events and Operations Coordinator. Responsibilities include overseeing year-round events and working closely with our Events and Operations Manager. During the summer responsibilities include planning, setup, and the execution of special events and camp operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage logistic coordination, including, but not limited to event set up, signage, location prep, rentals, transportation, catering, event break down, etc.
  • Oversee the setup and breaking down of camp events both on and off-site
  • Meeting coordination; work in conjunction with our clients as well as our Sales teams to plan and execute events
  • Oversee special events, set up for the camp season and work closely with our Events and Operations manager
  • Act as a Master of Ceremonies to lead camp rallies and events
  • Oversee off camp events including troubleshooting logical needs
  • Responsible for administrative aspects of on and off camp events
  • Ordering materials and supplies that are needed for events
  • Collaborate with camp DIrectors, Administrative Staff and Maintenance Dept
  • Inventory management (including banners, signs, apparel, equipment and supplies)
  • Operate a camp vehicle to attend events
  • Ability to work long hours including weekends, as needed


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be flexible and able to think fast on your feet
  • Must be able to take detailed notes
  • Must have above proficiency in Google Suite
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong time management skills, able to multitask and prioritize duties
  • Knowledge of audio-visual equipment, including sound systems, bluetooth connectivity, Spotify, wireless microphones, and troubleshooting audio equipment
  • Must be a creative and forward thinker
  • Able to confidently lead a team of people, deliver clear instructions and delegate tasks
  • Must be outgoing and comfortable speaking in front of a crowd of enthusiastic campers
  • Should be creative and playful


  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to lift heavy items as much as 50 pounds, or heavier with assistance
  • Ability to work long hours including weekends as needed
  • Must be technologically proficient
  • Must be a team player and be flexible in decision making
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Ability to work in a face paced environment
