Mohawk Day Camp offers dynamic programming in state-of-the-art facilities, situated on 40 beautiful acres in White Plains, NY. We serve families in lower Westchester County, New York City, and areas of Connecticut. Mohawk’s diverse program features swimming, creative arts, sports and adventure activities for children ages 3-15.

2024 Season: Thursday, June 27 through Friday, August 16.
The camp will be closed on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th for the Independence Day holiday.
The hours for staff members are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
In addition, Mohawk holds a series of mandatory pre-season training sessions in June. Staff
assigned to camp transportation roles will have added required orientation sessions.
We require that our staff commit to a full camp season of 7 weeks. However, there are a limited number of positions for employees that require an early departure due to college or work commitments. Please let our hiring team know your schedule at the time of your interview.
Mohawk Day Camp takes every precaution to prevent exposure to products that might be harmful to campers and staff with severe food allergies. Outside food and beverage are not permitted on the campus. Mohawk provides staff with a snack, hot lunch, cold lunch options, and a salad bar each day. Please notify our staffing team if you have medical, religious, or other dietary restrictions.
Group staff will be able to participate with campers in all of the fun activities that Mohawk has to offer! Staff are also expected to be in the pool with campers and assist the swim staff with camper safety and swim lessons each day. Your pre-camp orientation will include some training with our fantastic swim staff, so you’ll be ready for the first day of camp!
In order to work at Mohawk Day Camp, you need to be 16 years old by the first day of camp. Staff under 18 years of age by the first day of camp, you will need working papers, which can be obtained through your school.
Yes, we want to make sure that you are excited and thoroughly prepared for the first day of camp! We have multiple training dates planned throughout the month of June. We will share this schedule with you during your interview.
Our payroll is processed every two weeks. You will need to fill out an I-9 and W-4 in order to be added to our payroll.
Yes! We have a referral program where you can earn up to $250 for each person you refer who completes the summer.
Our staff members are role models for our campers, therefore they are expected to maintain a neat and professional appearance. Staff are provided with Mohawk Day Camp shirts to wear each day. Staff (except for lifeguards) must wear sneakers and athletic or casual shorts each day. Group counselors are required to swim with their campers and must be prepared to wear bathing suits while at the pool.
